A few snowflakes!

And a few flakes definitely fell in Island Square. And we have witnesses!

We have been out and about in town today checking on our properties that were being cleaned, being decorated and also another look at the new one on our books. It’s just as well we were busy and kept moving as it was absolutely freezing.

Several boats sat quietly in the harbour and there was only one solitary dog walker. The tide was so far out that we didn’t manage to see any of the many crashing waves that were captured and posted all over Facebook yesterday but we’re thinking – is it the calm before the storm?

The schools are breaking up a week on Friday and St Ives will once again be packed with tourists hopefully having a great time discovering or rediscovering the town and surrounding area.

We love this time of year, when restaurants and shops are dusting themselves down and getting ready for the season to start all over again. Everybody seems so enthusiastic and  busy trying to make everything just right for the few months ahead.

For us, we are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces and also several new ones. We have 4 new properties from this time last year and we genuinely get a thrill from our guests’ ( old and new ) reaction to a new house. We hope they enjoy staying in them and have a nice relaxing break.

And of course some much needed sunshine would be the icing on the cake.
