Driftshore Cottage

Driftshore Cottage has been beautifully renovated with bright and airy interiors to allow you immerse yourself fully into the beautiful town that is St Ives. The property has been carefully coordinated to allow you to enjoy spending time with your friends and family in the downstairs open plan set up, all the while offering spacious bedrooms for you to have the privacy you may want after a long day at the beach.

Driftshore Cottage is located in the heart of the popular Downalong back roads of St Ives meaning you are minutes away from most of the restaurants, bars, beaches and shops that St. Ives is famous for.

The cottage is set on three floors, the first being the open plan kitchen/lounge/diner, the second boasting a full-size family bathroom, a twin room and a super king master bedroom with an ensuite. The top floor is a zip and link attic bedroom so it can be set up as a twin or as a super king bed depending on your preferences.

Pre-arrival

• Should you require a Tesco food delivery or for a satellite navigation system, the postcode is TR26 1NU. Please note: for a delivery please ensure it is booked to be delivered after 4pm when you are there to receive it.
• Driftshore cottage is located on a narrow road with easy access by car.
• The nearest beaches are Porthgwidden and Bamaluz which are both located approx. 200-300 metres away. Porthmeor and The Harbour are located between 300-400 metres away.
• The main centre of St Ives is located 450 metres away.
• The nearest shop is located 250 metres away.
• The nearest supermarket (Tesco) is located 1 mile away.
• The bus and train stations are located ½ a mile away, plenty of taxi’s are available from both stations.
• The cottage is heated through a combi boiler.
• Quality bed linen and towels provided.
• All beds have mattress and pillow protectors.
• The cottage is strictly non-smoking.
• There are mains smoke detectors and a fire procedure in place.

Arrival and Parking

• • Please be advised that arrival time is strictly 4pm onwards.
  • You can unload outside of the cottage before parking.
  • The property has one reserved parking space in the station car park
  • Directions to the car park will be emailed to you before your arrival.

Parking space – slight angle – 4100cm long on one side & 3800cm on the other, 2600cm wide

• On arrival there will be a welcome basket including Cornish provisions, tea bags, coffee milk and fresh flowers, however, we recommend that you shop at Tesco, Carbis Bay on your way into St Ives.

Ground Floor

• There are 10 concrete steps up to the front door of the cottage. The front door is a PVC stable door.
• The front door opens up directly into the lounge with the stairs leading up to the 1^st floor directly ahead of you.
• The lounge leads into the open plan kitchen and dining area where there is a dining table with seating for 8 people. The lounge has two double seated sofas and an arm chair.
• The TV is a SMART TV and there is a bluetooth speaker plugged in next to the TV.
• There is a cupboard underneath the stairs adjacent to the lounge which houses the hoover and mop.
• There are coat hooks and shoe racks alongside the understairs cupboard for you to hang your bits and bobos to keep them out of the way.
• The heating is controlled by a hive system which is set to the standard comfort levels. You are welcome to change the heating settings as you desire, however, please return them to the original settings before you depart. Instructions are found in the user manual.
• The flooring throughout the ground floor is grey, laminate click clack boards.
• The kitchen has a ZANUSSI oven and a BOSCH microwave.
• A Nespresso machine.
• There is a John Lewis washer/dryer under the kitchen countertop, a small integrated dishwasher and an undercounter fridge which is ¼ freezer and ¾ fridge.
• There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware for 6 guests and we will provide you with tea towels, oven gloves, enough bin liners, dishwasher and clothes washing tablets to get you started.
• The sink, hob and worktop height is 90cm.
• The ground floor is well lit with spotlights running throughout, as well as lamps and plenty of windows for natural lighting, The windows are covered with roller blinds.
• There are 12 steps up the first floor. Please be aware the stair case is slim and steep.

First Floor

• Once on the first floor the main bathroom is directly ahead of you which has a toilet, a basin and a shower bath. There is a small window next to the bath to allow natural light otherwise it is lit with spotlights and wall lights next to the mirror.
• The bath/shower has a rainfall shower head and there is a handheld arm depending on your preferences. There is a shower curtain.
• The next room to the right of the bathroom is a twin bedded room
• There is a tallboy directly opposite the front door for storage and coat hooks on the wall. The beds each have a plug in spotlight.
• To the right of the twin room is the master bedroom.
• The door opens up immediately to a dresser and a mirror, there is a hanging clothes rail to the back of the bedroom, an then it moves around to a bedside table, the bed itself and another bedside table. There are built in shelves at the far end of the room and a bay window for you to sit and watch the views in the horizon.
• The ensuite is at the far end foot of the bed and contains a small sink, a toilet and a shower cubicle with one adjustable shower arm. Well lit with spotlights. There is also a towel rail.

Second Floor

• The are then 11 steps up to the attic bedroom.
• The stair well leads immediately up to the entrance of the bedroom where you will find a chunky set of drawers which will contain a hair dryer.
• The bedroom has two dormers which both have incredible sea views out of them. The bed is placed in the middle of the room if set up as a super king with a bedside table on either side. There is a built in bench at the foot of the bed.
• Please be warned, as this is an attic room the ceiling does sit at an angle at both ends of the bedroom. The room does have standard ceiling height when stood in the middle of the room.

Outside

• The property does not have outside space.

Departure

• Check-out is strictly by 9am.
• On departure, one set of keys are to be left inside the property and the other set are to be returned to the key safe.
• You are asked to leave the cottage clean and tidy, any unreasonable additional cleaning required may be charged for.
