St Ives has always been famous for its golden beaches, turquoise waters and charming fishing harbour. But in recent years something else has quietly taken centre stage.
The food.
Across the town you’ll now find an incredible mix of cafés, wine bars, restaurants, bakeries and hidden little eateries serving outstanding food made with fresh Cornish produce. Long-established favourites sit alongside exciting new independent spots, all adding to a food scene that keeps getting better every year.
Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or a longer stay, here are some of our favourite places to eat in St Ives for 2026.
Before we dive into some of the newer additions, it would be impossible not to mention the three beach cafés that have been delighting visitors for years.
Porthminster Beach Café
Overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, this award-winning restaurant is known for its incredible seafood and relaxed tropical feel.
Porthmeor Beach Café
Right beside the famous surfing beach, this is a fantastic place to enjoy tapas and watch the sunset over the Atlantic.
Porthgwidden Beach Café
Tucked away on a smaller, sheltered beach, this café is perfect for a slower breakfast, lunch, or fresh seafood by the water.
These places have been consistently excellent for years and remain firm favourites with both locals and visitors.

St Eia – The Digey, Old Town St Ives
Tucked away in the winding backstreets just moments from Porthmeor Beach, St Eia is one of the most exciting newer additions to the St Ives food scene.
Part wine bar, part intimate restaurant, it focuses on simple seasonal dishes made with exceptional local ingredients.
What we love
Try
Fresh oysters, crab crostini, charcuterie boards, risotto, moules marinière or beautifully cooked fish such as hake with leeks and clams.

Razor Clam – Tregenna Place

This family-run restaurant sits on the main hill into town and can easily be missed if you don’t know it’s there.
But those who do know it absolutely love it.
Razor Clam focuses on fresh ingredients, creative cooking and warm, welcoming service.
Expect
The interior is bright and cosy, creating a relaxed space that’s perfect for a long lunch or a laid-back evening meal.

Reef & Beef – Fore Street
Reef & Beef brings together two things people love most when dining by the coast: exceptional seafood and premium steak.
The menu balances the best of land and sea, with carefully sourced cuts of meat sitting alongside beautifully prepared fish dishes.
Inside the restaurant you’ll find a bright and welcoming space with views towards the harbour and a relaxed but refined atmosphere.
It’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about newer restaurants in St Ives.
Blas Burgerworks – The Warren

Now in its twentieth year, Blas Burgerworks has become something of a St Ives institution.
Hidden away in The Warren, this small and quirky restaurant is famous for its handmade chargrilled burgers.
Why people love it
Vegetarians often rave about the mushroom burger, beetroot burger or the famous Huevos Rancheros burger topped with guacamole, egg and chilli sauce.
If you love burgers, this place is well worth seeking out.

The Cornish Deli – Chapel Street
Another much-loved local favourite is The Cornish Deli, run by father-and-son team Mark and Max.
Small, friendly and packed with great food, it has developed something close to cult status in St Ives.
What you’ll find
It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed brunch, lunch, or to pick up delicious local produce for a picnic on the beach or coastal path.

St Ives Bakery – Fore Street
Follow the smell of fresh bread and you’ll soon find St Ives Bakery.
This independent bakery has been producing fantastic artisan breads, pastries and pasties for over twenty years.
Everything is baked locally at their small unit in nearby St Erth before arriving fresh each day in their Fore Street shop.
Look through the window and you’ll see trays of meringues, sourdough loaves, pastries and warm pasties that are almost impossible to resist.
Perfect for a quick lunch before heading to the beach.

SILCo Bar & Kitchen – The Wharf

SILCo stands for St Ives Liquor Co – the makers of the popular St Ives Gin.
Their harbour-side bar and kitchen sits right on The Wharf, with outside seating overlooking the boats and beach.
It’s a relaxed place to sit with friends and enjoy drinks alongside small plates made with fresh local ingredients.
Expect
It’s an ideal spot for an evening drink while watching the harbour come to life.

Talay Thai Kitchen – The Wharf

One of the biggest success stories in recent years has been Talay Thai Kitchen, located right on the harbour front.
Talay means both seafood and ocean in Thai, and the restaurant brings vibrant Thai street-food flavours to this corner of Cornwall.
Upstairs you’ll find incredible harbour views, a lively atmosphere and chefs cooking authentic dishes full of flavour.
What to expect
The restaurant operates on a walk-in only basis, so it’s worth arriving early to avoid disappointment. If there’s a wait, take a wander around the harbour or enjoy the nearby beaches while you wait.
