Things to do this Whitsun Half Term in St Ives

Here in pretty St Ives and the surrounding area we have plenty to entertain our visitors over the half term!

Rock Pool Explorer (St Michael’s Mount, Sunday 27 May & Sunday 3 June)

Take a walk on the wild side and join Great Scott! Adventures Outdoors for a rummage in the rockpools.  Rockpool Explorer is suitable for all ages and children must be accompanied. There’s no need to book, just drop in at the start time.

Half Term Fun at the Eden Project (St Austell)

Come and discover amazing interactive exhibits, extraordinary artworks, hands-on experiments and exciting events which bring the invisible into view, uncovering the “interconnectedness” of life and the Earth’s environments at every scale.

The National Trust at Whitsun

Close to St Ives near Helston (approx. 20 minute drive away) sits the amazing Godolphin House – an ancient and atmospheric estate with a medieval garden and historic house.  Which has many activities on offer throughout the half term week. From walks around the estate, and exploring the house, to storytelling for the children (and the young at heart)!  With the brand new all-terrain Tramper allowing greater mobility for all to explore the Godolphin Estate.  Heritage sites are now more accessible, as users of the vehicle will be able to explore the medieval garden and grounds with ease, all year round.

And if you don’t want to drive we have ‘events-a-plenty’ in St Ives itself, including……

A visit to The Leach Pottery who are running Half Term events including “Have A Go Thursdays” and “Clay Days”, a visit to The Tate to see the new Patrick Heron Exhibition, or, for the sweet toothed and chocoholics amongst you, Coco Kitchen are offering their  bespoke Chocolate Workshops where you will have your own purpose-made work-space and tools to help you indulge and make your own delicious chocolates. If you are still peckish after this, grab something delicious from their café, selling Hot Chocolate, Ice Cream, Coffee, Milkshakes and Bakes.

And finally…..for a unique experience – St Ives Cinema “OnThe Beach”
