Whatever the time of year you may chose to come to St.Ives on holiday, it would not seem quite complete if you didn’t bring your favourite four-legged friends with you too! With easy access to many beautiful beaches, the South West Coastal path, stunning inland waterways & estuaries, ancient woodlands and many beautiful rural areas, Cornwall really does have it all for you and your pets to explore.
After a lovely long walk you can unwind and relax in one of our cosy pet friendly cottages. Why not put your feet up or have a soak in the bath, whilst you are pampering, perhaps you might like to book a similar experience for your pet too?!!
My very own Cherished Labradors, Bertie and Icy, run a tight ship with their busy schedule of appearing in cottage photo shoots for our dog-friendly properties and join me daily on long dog walks in the surrounding area, where they are often photographed and videoed so everyone can follow their antics on our social media.
Because they have such a demanding workload, they quite often return home muddy, wet and tired, so they were delighted to have received an invitation from Jo who runs the Scrubyard in St Ives for a “scrub up”! They happily accepted Jo’s invitation and visited just before Christmas.
They were spoiled rotten by the lovely Jo, who washed, shampooed and conditioned them, before giving them a long blow dry, then a thorough brushing and finishing with clipping their nails.
When I returned to collect the dogs I was met with two gorgeous smelling, very happy dogs – they had been sprayed with a lovely doggy cologne! Bright eyed and bushy tailed Bertie & Icy were then given a delicious handmade gravy bone, licking their lips and wagging their tails, they then left completely satisfied.
Bertie & Icy have now resumed their normal duties with added vigour, and are really keen to re-visit Jo once they have put another good shift in……It really is a dogs life!!
