New Years Eve 2018 – feSTIVESeason!

As there are so many top New Year’s events in Cornwall, it be can difficult to decide where to go to ring in the New Year. There are so many great things going on at this time of year across our lovely county,  you definitely won’t be twiddling your thumbs wondering what to do!

Here are a few of our top picks for places to go in Cornwall for New Year’s Eve:

Naturally, top of our list is St Ives, where thousands of revellers of all ages dress up in weird and wonderful fancy dress to celebrate and enjoy one of the best street parties in the UK! Every year we are amazed at how many people make such an effort to dress up with the vast majority making their own unique outfits. And you never know, you may even make the local papers or the news, as the reporters are always keen to take photos of the best dressed revellers! With live music and fireworks at midnight from Smeaton’s Pier, it will truly be a memorable night & a fabulous way to greet 2019!

Or, bring in the New Year by celebrating in nearby Newquay. It is a time-old tradition for people to don fancy dress outfits for the annual festivities in the town, which include a fireworks display at Newquay Harbour.

In the town centre there are musical treats in store – particularly outside in Central Square throughout the afternoon with performances to get you in the festive spirit for the upcoming New Year!

If you’re near Central Square at midnight, make sure to see in the New Year with thousands of others congregated here to sing Auld Lang Syne and party through the night.

Also, in keeping with Cornwall’s carnival atmosphere, the people of Looe love a party at New Year. Fancy dress (again) is considered a must – prepare to look out of place if wearing your normal clothes! The party spreads through the whole town. It’s not only the revellers who dress up – the town’s buildings and even the boats on the harbour are adorned with cheery lights to help brighten up the occasion. Unlike other events in Cornwall, Looe has two firework displays, one at 6pm and one at midnight. This really gets the party started, but this also allows families to be more involved as little children can take in the firework show earlier rather than waiting around to midnight.

For an alternative New Year with a bang – why not head over to Crasken Farm in Helston, be sure to buy your tickets in advance though, as they sell out fast!  There they will be are hosting their incredibly popular New Years Eve rave – from 9pm until 4am!

So if you are tempted for a very special and memorable Xmas and New Year, why not come and stay in one of our amazing seaside cottages, beautiful houses or fabulous apartments. We have just reduced our late availability and released short breaks on our remaining few amazing vacancies – why wait?
