Half Term Fun – October 2018

If you fancy an Autumn family getaway or a romantic week for two by the sea, St Ives is just the perfect place to be! All of our lovely boutique shops, fabulous restaurants and amazing Art Galleries are open, and of course the stunning beaches are right on your doorstep, still beautiful, just without all of the summer crowds. Why not bring your four-legged friends? The dog ban is lifted from the 1st of October, so they too can enjoy exploring the beaches with you!
With the towns and attractions less crowded than in the summer peak months you can explore St Ives and our wonderful surrounding areas much more easily! There is always plenty to do in Cornwall, to entertain guests of all ages,  in every type of weather.

Listed below are a few of our personal favourite family things to do during the half term:

Whilst you are over on the “Other Coast” the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is running a half term event named “Ghost Ships”, this exciting new show feature a visually stunning acrobatic theatrical performance by Yskynna, with story telling, craft making and a trail for you to follow!

Here in St Ives the iconic Tate Gallery overlooking Porthmeor Beach with events and exhibitions a-plenty during the school holidays.  The Tate Create workshops are putting on a Tattoo making art class for the youngsters during half term, which means there is a perfect excuse for the grown ups to visit!  Whilst you are there you can browse the art and indulge in some coffee and cake in the Cafe with it’s sweeping views over the town and beach.
