St Ives Food Festival 2017

Every year, lovers of food, drink and fun flock to St Ives for our legendary Food Festival. Taking place on the sandy shores of Porthminster Beach, come by on the 13th and 14th of May to see what all the fuss is about! If you can’t wait that long, we’ve got a quick rundown of what you can expect.

The Food Trail

In the week leading up to the festival (8th-14th May) the restaurants, bars, cafes and bakeries of St Ives throw open their doors with enticing discounts and offers. Travel around the town, exploring all the culinary delights on offer at brilliant, one-off prices! If you want to make the most of the Food Trail, check out the map and full list of places involved.

The Market

As the weekend gets well under-way, revellers flock to the market on Porthminster Beach to indulge in local culinary wonders. There is always an abundance of meat, fruit and vegetables alongside chutneys, curries, cheese, chocolate and bread to get your taste buds tingling! Whether you’re a savoury lover or a sucker for all things sweet, the market offers something for everyone. Wines, beers and ciders will also be available to sample and buy, ensuring a merry day. The full list of food and drink contributors is available on the St Ives festival website.

The Chefs

Not only are there top-quality food suppliers, there are also top chefs coming down to wow the audience with their incredible culinary skills. Demonstrations will be going on throughout Saturday and Sunday, so if you’d like to learn from the masters, now’s your time! Be sure you know who’s on when so you don’t miss your favourites.

Music and Kids Activities

Alongside an abundance of great food and drink orientated past times, there’s live music and activities for the little ones. A whole host of talented musicians will take to the stage on Saturday from 10.30 to 21.00 (a new evening session has been added from 18.30 onwards) and on Sunday from 10.30 to 18.00. Take a peep at the line-up to see all the performers. For the kids, you can make sure they have just as good a day by checking them in for a jump on the bouncy castle, joining in with the Cornwall Sports Partnership beach games and heading to Little Kitchen Magicians for the chance to get their hands messy and make some fruit kebabs!

St Ives Food Festival is one of many great events held in our coastal town, bringing together the local community and inviting travellers, too, to experience all our town has to offer. It’s definitely not something to be missed!
